Garden Tea

This time of year, I am so inspired to use everything coming from my garden. One creative way to enjoy all the fresh bounty is to make Garden Tea. Garden Tea is a simple medley of any herbs, edible flowers, and/or fruit that you enjoy tossed together and steeped until your desired strength. Some of my favorite combinations include:
-Rose Petals
-Chamomile
-Bee Balm
-Mint (various kinds)
-Lemon Verbena
-Lemon Balm
-Elder Flower
-Raspberries
-Blueberries
-Citrus (Lime, Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit)

Method:
Harvest (and wash if needed) your desired herbs/flowers/fruit. You will need a generous handful.
Gently bruise or crush your herbs to help release the aromatic flavors.
Pour boiling water over and steep for 5-10 minutes.
(Alternatively, if you would like to make this into a Sun Tea, follow the same steps but instead of adding boiling water, fill a clean glass jar over half way and leave in direct sunlight for a few hours. Chill and use within 2 days. )
Serve and sweeten to taste.
I hope this post inspires you to make your own Garden Tea. I would love if you left me a comment with your favorite herbal teas.
With Love,
Abby
